TSS Generation 2 or 3 RAID Setup

Applies to:

TSS Gen2 or Gen3 system.

Refer to the TSS Generation identification knowledge base article to determine which system you have.

Symptom:

A failed RAID or replacement of multiple drives.

Possible Reason(s):

The RAID has failed or multiple drives within the RAID require replacement.

Solution(s):

The overview below are the steps necessary to setup the RAID on a Gen2 or Gen3 TSS system.

  1. Press Ctrl-I to enter Intel RAID Configuration Utility.
  2. Press Enter to select Create RAID Volume.
  3. Press Enter to Keep Default Name Volume0
  4. Use arrow keys then Enter to select RAID Level RAID5(Parity)
  5. Press Enter to Select Disks, then use arrow keys and space bar to select all disks, then press Enter again to accept.
  6. Press Enter to keep default Strip Size of 128KB.
  7. Press Enter to keep default Capacity.
  8. Press Enter then Y to Create Volume.
  9. Press 4 then Y to Exit.
