MAXX-1200HD, MAXX-2400HD and MAXX-2420HD/EX
Symptom:
Symptoms can range from a system which will not boot, shows multiple drives missing or failed or all drives are being replaced.
Possible Reason(s):
The RAID has failed or drives are being replaced.
Note: This document does not apply if the RAID is only degraded. A degraded array does not normally require rebuilding of the entire RAID array.
Solution(s):
- Power on the Server.
- Enter BIOS setup by pressing [F2] at prompt.
- Change Quiet Boot to [Disabled].
- Press [F10] to save changes.
- Server will re-boot.
- Press [Alt–3] at prompt to enter 3ware setup.
- Press [Enter] twice.
- If there is an old array, it needs to be deleted before creating a new one. To delete an old array, select it by pressing enter while it is highlighted. An asterisk will appear next to it. Press [Tab] to navigate to Delete Unit and press [Enter] to apply.
- Press [Tab] and select Create Unit.
- Select RAIDConfiguration.
- For 1200HD or 2470HD select RAID 5
- For 2400HD select RAID 6.
- Select StorSave Profile and set to Performance.
- Select Auto–Verify and set to Disabled.
- Press [Tab] to select Advanced and press [Enter].
- Set Drive Queuing Mode to Disabled.
- [Tab] to OK and press [Enter].
- Select OK, Type [Y] to enable Write Cache.
- Press [F8] and type [Y] to Save and Exit.
